The United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY) – a global network of over 100 youth-led organizations working on conflict prevention and peacebuilding with headquarters in The Hague, Netherlands, has reelected Mr Rafiu Adeniran Lawal, a youth peacebuilder from Nigeria as the International Steering Group Representative for West and Central Africa.
Mr Rafiu is the Executive Director for Building Blocks for Peace Foundation, a youth NGO working on peacebuilding, accountability governance and sustainable development in Nigeria. As UNOY ISG, he will support the network in an advisory, governance and representative role. He will be the nexus between the secretariat and network members within the region, support the development of multi-annual strategy and coordinate membership in West and Central Africa. Mr Rafiu will serve as the UNOY ISG representative from 2020-2022.
