NETWORK DEVELOPMENT INTERN"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Position: <\/strong><strong>Network Development Intern<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Starting\ndate<\/strong>: &nbsp;10th March 2021 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duration:<\/strong>\n6 months <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>&nbsp;Remote\/Possibility\nof travelling within Nigeria<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Building Blocks for Peace Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Building\nBlocks for Peace Foundation (BBFORPEACE) is a leading youth network working on\nconflict prevention, peacebuilding and accountability governance in Nigeria. We\nare building the resilience of young men and women against violent philosophies\nthrough policy advocacy, capacity building development, research and\ndocumentation, community sensitisation, radio and tv programming amongst other innovative\napproaches. The organisation was incorporated in 2017. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Internship Position <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December 2015, the UN Security\nCouncil adopted the groundbreaking Resolution 2250, on Youth, Peace and\nSecurity. For the first time, the UN Security Council recognized the positive\nrole young people can play in conflict prevention, the prevention of violent\nextremism and peacebuilding. The overarching\ngoal of the Network Development Intern is to support activities and interventions\naround the implementation of the Youth, Peace and Security agenda in Nigeria. He\/She\nwill coordinate programs and projects related to the advocacy for the\neffective implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250,\n2419, 2535. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Specific\nRoles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Initiate and support the coordination of\nexisting youth, peace and security initiatives.<\/li><li>Act as a focal point for the youth,\npeace and security program (both for external and internal stakeholders).<\/li><li>Drive activities that will facilitate\nactive engagement and collaboration by members and partners of the youth, peace\nand security programs.<\/li><li>Support the development and\nimplementation of an advocacy strategy that reflects members concerns and\ninterests.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Between 18-35 years<\/li><li>Bachelors\/Advanced University Degree in Political Science, International Relations, Social Sciences, Peacebuilding, Conflict Management, International Development or related &nbsp;field.<\/li><li>Written and spoken fluency in English. <\/li><li>Willingness to learn and interest in the peace and security related fields.<\/li><li>Excellent writing, editing and analytical skills and ability to formulate well-targeted documents.<\/li><li>Knowledge of existing frameworks on youth, peace and security, (UNSCR2250, UNSCR2419, UNSCR2535, UNSCR1325).<\/li><li>Good computer skills Microsoft office packages(Google doc, powerpoints and Excel)<\/li><li>Demonstrated research skills with concrete evidence. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Working\nConditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an unpaid\nposition.
