It originated as a Roman Catholic feast day\nhonouring one or two early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine and, it has\nover the years become a significant cultural, religious, and commercial\ncelebration of romance and romantic love in many parts of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valentine\u2019s Day is synonymous to love and in recent\ntimes, many people are beginning to see that Valentine\u2019s Day should not only be\nreserved for certain kinds of love but love to all humanity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To mark the 2021 Valentine\u2019s Day, members of the Building\nBlocks for Peace Foundation (BBFORPEACE) paid a visit to Jesus Kids Orphanage\nfor the Disabled, Iwo Road, Ibadan where we donated food and non-food materials\nand admonish the children on the importance of Love and Peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BBFORPEACE Director for Administration, Miss Stephanie\nEffevottu spoke to the children on the importance of loving one another as love\nis what makes the world go around. She took time to expound on living in peace\nwith each other as an extension of love, especially in making sure not to let\nbitterness from offence take root in their heart. She explained to the children\nthat offences will always come as a result of two or more people relating but\nit is important that when they come, it is addressed immediately instead of\nbeing allowed to fester and grow into bitterness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Miss Folasade, a member of the organisation also expanded\non the significance of the day by making the children understand that they are\nloved as well because it is usually when one feels the love that they can\nextend it to other people. She told them to do an exercise every morning where\nthey say to themselves that Jesus loves them and take it a step further by\nincluding their names to personalize it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The children felt happy that they were also remembered on an occasion like Valentine&#8217;s Day.
